Creating a new Project

New Projects can be set up a few different ways. In the top right corner on the Budget Overview, click the “Plus” sign and select the option to “Create New Project”.

Alternatively, select the vertical elipses at either the Program or Site level and select “Create New Project”.

Adding a new project will only add that project to the current Program. At a minimum, a user will provide Project Name and Number, select the site project is associated with, set the project status and identify the Project Manager. Fields with drop-down selection are text adaptive – begin typing and let the application fill in the rest. Upon saving, a confirmation box will appear with the option to either close or Add funds. A project can be funded immediately, or funds can be added a later time. This is useful functionality when adding placeholder projects.

When clicking to “Add Funds”, users will be prompted to transfer funds to the project via fund accounts. Select the Fund (notice that the same rules apply here as they do with Funds at the Program level), select next and enter the funding details. Click next to confirm and commit or cancel to return to the Project Details drawer within the Budget Overview.

Projects can also be funded via budget transfers…either from one object code to another in the same project or from one project to a different project. A transfer is done by clicking on the source object code, selecting transfer, and then identifying whether the transfer will be “to this project” or “to a different project”. Select the source and provide required transfer details and click next to confirm and submit. Notice that these budget allocations provide both an allocation summary and allocation history specific to the source object code.
